Hi There Web Surfer! Hopefully you have come by this site and found the exact person you wanted..!. If you were looking for a cricketer, I think a better place would be to search on CricInfo. Lasith Gunawardena has been running a site on the web since 1996 - First as a experimental HTML coding attempt via Geocities.com. The Domain Lasith.com has been registered to Lasith since 2000, and has been serving thousands of students Lasith has taught since 2000.
Lasith's Original Site still resides on Geocities (and is due to be closed down in October 2009 as Geocities is closing down), and if one drops by the site, the virtual cobwebs will tell you that it hasn't been updates since around 1998. This site which runs on the Open Source Content Management System Joomla! provides an easy-to-use graphical user interface that simplifies the management and publishing of large volumes of content including HTML, documents, and rich media. I've earlier experimented with Mambo Server, and a few others, before finally deciding on this.
So what does Lasith do ?. He's a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Information Technology , University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, and apart from lecturing in academic programme offered by the University, is quite involved in the dissemination of IT knowledge locally, by way of Guest Lectures and utilising IT to expand horizons in Higher Education : A fact which has lead to his focus on the e-learning domain as a key research focus area. He is also the current Chair of the IEEE Computer Society's Sri Lanka Chapter.
This site is a collection of information which details the different facets of Lasith's Involvements, and provides Testimonials from Students, Colleagues, Mentees, Supervisors and Friends on How lasith has touched their lives. Most of the links on this site have restricted access. However, if you need to contact lasith, use the form on the Contact Me Page.
